MOTOR INSURANCE IN SPAIN FOR EXPATRIATES
On receipt of the premium, Seviour Insurance give its clients immediate
cover in the form of a 15 day covernote in English and
Spanish. Full policy documents usually arrive after about 10 days. During
July or August of 2004 this is to change however, as Seviour Insurance launches its
brand new system which will allow instant production of policies on
the spot. If you change your vehicle mid-term, then your existing policy can
be converted but still run to the same expiry date. You just pay the
difference, or we refund you. That simple!
Insurance premiums can be paid in cash, with a euros cheque or by bank transfer into our
account, for which details can be given on request. A credit card facility is now
available for clients who find this method more convenient.
Seviour Insurance always posts policies promptly to those clients who do not live near its offices.
Renewal reminders are sent to clients well in advance of their motor
insurance renewal date, by usually more than one month. Seviour Insurance can
follow this up with a phone call nearer the due date, and will do everything
possible to keep your motor insurance renewal premium to a minimum. One way we can reduce
premiums is by reviewing the current value of your vehicle.
Motor claims can take rather longer to settle in Spain than in the
UK for instance, and this is especially so if an expatriate insurance
company is not in the Spanish Convenio. For this reason Seviour Insurance
use the services of ARAG , a Spanish company specialising in Claims
Handling and Legal Defence matters. Our own multi-lingual claims department
is in daily contact with ARAG via phone and e mail so that vehicle
inspections can be arranged, updates provided, and documentation requested and
sent on.
